OUR STORY
Homegrown Mechanical was professionally established in 2015, but its beginnings were formed in the classroom years prior. Paul Moody and Daniel Wong met while studying at BCIT, both eager to pursue a career in the plumbing trade.
Once they finished their respective apprenticeships in 2013, Daniel worked in Vancouver as a team lead and foreman for local plumbing development, and Paul worked as a journeyman plumber and gas fitter in Fort McMurray, Alberta, capitalizing on the oil boom. There he started the foundations of running his own plumbing business, which took real fruition when he returned to Vancouver and joined forces with Daniel once again.
They officially launched Homegrown Mechanical in November 2015 as co-owners and operators, taking on primarily residential jobs. They've grown tremendously since then, now with 15–20 residential and commercial projects ongoing at any time. What began as a business venture to serve their communities with great-quality plumbing has since evolved to also support and grow skilled tradespeople who have joined the Homegrown team.
Today, Paul, Dan and the rest of the team proudly serve the Lower Mainland, providing reliable plumbing, heating and gas fitting installation on new builds and renovations. Veteran contractors and builders trust Homegrown Mechanical to provide reliable, efficient, top-quality work on their projects.

Our business name was inspired in part by the song 'Homegrown' by Zac Brown Band.
It resonated with us for its message, and because we're proud to live in and serve the community we've always called home.
